History
The company was founded by Tim Midwood in 1972. Based in Chester the company initially concentrated on importing a small range of Nylon Lock Nuts and Self Tapping Screws from the Far East. Today Mr Midwood would be proud of his legacy with the company now Importing over 4,000 product lines from many points of the globe.
In 1989 after rapid growth the company out grew the Chester location and moved to a former World War II aerodrome outside Nantwich in Cheshire. Throughout the early 1990's the company expanded its product ranges and continued to heavily invest in stock. As a result by 1996 an additional 2,000 square metres of warehousing was constructed.
Sadly Tim Midwood died in 1996 leaving a company that had attained an enviable reputation within the UK fastener industry. Peter Gill who had joined the company in 1990, and became Managing Director in 1993, continued to develop the company by placing emphasis on the buying of high quality products from the most experienced and reputable manufacturers, and the commitment to ensuring that the company's distributors received the best possible service.
In 2002 Simon Midwood, the son of the founder, joined the company to head up the Sales and Marketing team. It became apparent that the future growth of the company lay in the development of new product lines. Keeping the company's policy of never comprising on quality, the first of many new ranges was launched 2003. In 2005 the company added to its traditional fixings and fasteners business by launching the Addax Power Tool Accessory range, which had been the result of over 2 years research. At the end of 2007 the company purchased a further 2 acres of land adjacent to its existing site for a 2000 sq metre logistical centre to be completed in 2008.
